Welcome to The Song of Us, a non-audition choir singing for the joy and community of it. We laugh freely and often in our Friday morning rehearsals, and like to walk the line between singing purely for the fun of it, and the sense of joy obtained when meeting new musical challenges at our own pace. Our repertoire is predominantly, but not only, acappella, and we enjoy putting our own spin on the songs we sing. Our music is eclectic - world, folk, pop and original songs - and often includes arrangements made by the director, Raelene Bruinsma, and friends of the choir. We like to attend the odd choral festival and do a few performances, but some members just come for the fun of rehearsals. We are of many different ages - from early adulthood to wise maturity – and we welcome people both with and without singing experience.
